In April 2023, the CIAC team journeyed to Honduras to spearhead the installation of six 20-foot relocatable shipping container clinics in Cortes. Following extensive flooding that inflicted damage on existing clinic sites, the Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) with U.S. Southern Command, recognized the urgent need and generously funded this critical initiative. Spread across three strategic locations, each hosting two clinics, this project included the integration of a dentistry suite at every site. The local Honduras team exhibited commendable diligence in site preparation, ensuring readiness for the arrival of the containers amidst the lingering threat of flooding. Through meticulous planning and efficient execution, the CIAC team swiftly unpacked, installed, and provided training to local personnel on the clinic equipment within a few days. By the time the CIAC team departed, all six containers were fully operational, poised to deliver essential healthcare services to the community.
