In the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, a devastating natural disaster that wreaked havoc on the region, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) stepped in to assist the country in gaining access to stable healthcare services as quickly as possible. Clinic In A Can was entrusted with the critical task of providing quick and reliable healthcare infrastructure. The destruction caused by the typhoon was extensive, wiping out the existing regional hospital and leaving communities in dire need of essential healthcare services. UNFPA requested for our efforts to focus on restoring access to vital medical care for women and children in the affected area with a special need for maternal and infant care. CIAC prioritized the establishment of clinics equipped to handle the specific challenges faced by expecting mothers, including the availability of performing C-sections. After just two weeks of dedication from the CIAC team on site, a dependable healthcare facility was established and operational, guaranteeing that families received the critical care they required during this crisis period and beyond.
